More than $30,000 was raised for Emporia Main Street projects and programming Saturday as the community clamored to support the annual auction fundraiser at the Granada Theatre.
Main Street director Casey Woods said he was more than pleased with the turnout for the auction, which featured a number of great items and packages up for grabs.
“That’s a great evening, and we’re excited for those dollars to get invested in some of our upcoming projects,” he said.
Woods told The Gazette that auction funds in the past have been used to help with ‘specialty projects,’ such as lighting in the Farmers Market parking lot and bracket systems for the Veterans banners.
